Jocelyne Cesari

Jocelyne Cesari is a French political scientist, tenured at the French National Center for Scientific Research in Paris, and specializing in Islam and Politics as well as in Muslim minorities in the West. She is a Visiting Associate Professor in the Department of Government at Georgetown University and a Senior Fellow at the Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs. At Harvard, she directs the Islam in the West Program. Her most recent books and articles include Muslims in the West After 9/11: Religion, Politics and Law (Routledge, 2009), “Islam in the West from Immigration to Global Islam,” Harvard Middle Eastern and Islamic Review, no. 8 (2009), and When Islam and Democracy Meet: Muslims in Europe and in the United States (Palgrave, 2006).
