Melanie Adrian is Associate Professor at Carleton University in the Department of Law and Legal Studies. Her work has focused on the intersection of nationalism and belonging in minority religious communities in Europe and North America. Her most recent book is entitled, Religious Freedom at Risk: The EU, French Schools, and Why the Veil was Banned.
