Olivier Roy is presently professor at the European University Institute (Florence) and scientific adviser to the Mediterranean Programme at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies. He is author of The Failure of Political Islam (Harvard University Press, 1994), Globalized Islam (Columbia University Press, 2004), Holy Ignorance (Columbia UP, 2010), In Search of the Lost Orient (Columbia UP, 2017), and Jihad and Death (Oxford University Press, 2017).
