Christine Baker
Christine D. Baker is an assistant professor of history at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on the development of different forms of sectarian identity in the medieval Islamic world. Her forthcoming book, Medieval Islamic Sectarianism: How Tenth-Century Political Competition Helped Forge a Narrative of Sunni-Shi’i Conflict, is currently under contract with ARC Medieval Press, an imprint of Medieval Institute Publications at Western Michigan University. Dr. Baker received her PhD in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2013, where Denise Spellberg served as her dissertation advisor.
