Melynda Price

Melynda Price is the William L. Matthews, Jr. Professor of Law and the John and Joan Gaines Professor of Humanities at the University of Kentucky. She is also the Director of the Gaines Center for the Humanities at the University of Kentucky. She is the author of At the Cross: Race, Religion and Citizenship in the Politics of the Death Penalty (2015) and has also written for academic journals, newspapers, and literary journals. Her current book project focuses on antiviolence organizing among black mothers of murdered children.
