Melani McAlister
Melani McAlister is Professor of American Studies and International Affairs at George Washington University. She has recently completed The Kingdom of God Has No Borders: A Global History of American Evangelicals, and is also co-editor of volume 4 of the forthcoming Cambridge History of America and the World. Her other books are Epic Encounters: Culture, Media, and US Interests in the Middle East (Univ. of California, 2005, o. 2001), and Religion and Politics in the Contemporary United States (2008), co-edited with R. Marie Griffith. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the ACLS. In 2017-18, she received an NEH fellowship to begin work on her next book, on the cultural and affective history of humanitarianism in the Cold War.
