R.G. Cravens is a senior research analyst with the Southern Poverty Law Center. His book, Yes Gawd! How Faith Shapes LGBT Identity and Politics in the United States, is available from Temple University Press, beginning January 2024. Cravens has previously held fellowships with SSRC and the Public Religion Research Institute. He regularly contributes to public conversations at the intersection of LGBT politics, policy, and religion, having appeared in The Rolling Stone, Axios, NPR, USA Today, and Agence France-Presse, among other outlets. Along with multiple scholarly publications, his public-facing scholarship has appeared in The Washington Post, Religion News Service, and SPLC's Hatewatch.
