Natalie Avalos

Natalie Avalos is a Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the ethnic studies department at University of Colorado Boulder and will be joining the department as an assistant professor in the 2020-21 academic year. Her work in comparative Indigeneities explores urban Indian and Tibetan refugee transnational religious life as decolonial praxis. She received her PhD in religious studies from the University of California at Santa Barbara and is currently working on her manuscript titled The Metaphysics of Decoloniality: Transnational Indigeneities and Religious Refusal. She is a Chicana of Apache descent, born and raised in the Bay Area.
