Michal Kravel-Tovi is a sociocultural anthropologist at Tel Aviv University, who works at the intersection of political anthropology, religion, and Jewish studies. In the last few years, she has been working on the quantification and biopolitization of Jewish life in the United States. Her monograph on Jewish conversion in Israel, When the State Winks: The Performance of Jewish Conversion in Israel, was published in 2017 by Columbia University Press.
