Kathleen M. Moore is Professor of Religious Studies and Associate Dean of the Humanities and Fine Arts at UC Santa Barbara, where she is also directs the Legal Humanities Initiative and the Health Humanities Initiative. Recent publications include a coedited collection of essays on religious othering, entitled Religious Othering: Global Dimensions (Routledge 2023), an encyclopedia essay on the religious practices of Muslim women in the Middle East, and an article on religious liberty arguments in the face of Covid-19-related space restrictions on houses of worship. She has written books on The Unfamiliar Abode: Islamic Law in the United States and Britain (Oxford University Press, 2010); Muslim Women in America: The Challenge of Islamic Identity Today (Oxford University Press, 2006; 2011); and Al-Mughtaribun: American Law and the Transformation of Muslim Life (SUNY Press, 1995).
