Murad Idris is assistant professor of Political Theory at the University of Virginia. He works on war and peace, language and politics, European political thought, and Arabic and Islamic thought. His first book, Disturbing Peace, critically examines idealizations of “peace” across major works of ancient and modern political thought, from Plato to Immanuel Kant and Sayyid Qutb (forthcoming with Oxford University Press).
