Fatima Seedat (PhD Islamic Law, McGill) is a senior lecturer in gender studies at the University of Cape Town where her research focuses on the convergence of historical and traditional constructions of sex difference with contemporary gender norms and legal paradigms in Islamic thought. She also writes on the convergence of Islam and feminism through a decolonial reading of both intellectual paradigms.
