Esra Tunc is a PhD candidate in Religious Studies at UC Santa Barbara. Her dissertation research examines how new forms of capitalism, such as impact investment and social entrepreneurship, bring together investment and giving with questions of justice and ethics in American Muslim contexts. This research has been supported by grants and awards from the Social Science Research Council, Indiana University (Lilly Family School of Philanthropy), and the University of California.
