Sarah Eltantawi (PhD, Harvard University, 2012) is the author of Shari'ah on Trial: Northern Nigeria's Islamic Revolution (University of California Press, 2017), and assistant professor of comparative religion and Islamic studies at the Evergreen State College. She is working on a book on the history of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt through the lens of political theology.
