Notre Dame Institute for Advanced Study (NDIAS) has recently announced a call for fellowship applications. The Institute aims to support “research that is directed toward, or extends inquiry to include, ultimate questions and questions of value, especially as they engage in the Catholic intellectual tradition.”
NDIAS has an open agenda, which allows fellows and scholars to pursue research in all areas, while focusing on broad questions that link multiple areas of inquiry, and offering those from many different academic and professional backgrounds the opportunity to “explore the relationship between the descriptive (the world as it is) and the normative (the world as it ought to be).”
Distinguished scholars, early career faculty, and graduate students are invited to apply. Fellows will receive stipends up to $60,000 as well as subsidized housing, research funding, in addition to several other benefits. The deadline for applications is November 1, 2012.
More information about the application process can be found here.
