The deadline for submitting Letters of Intent to New Directions in the Study of Prayer (NDSP), a new project and grants program of the SSRC, is almost here! Applicants must submit Letters of Intent and supporting materials to religion@ssrc.org no later than 5:00PM EST on December 1, 2011.

NDSP seeks to generate innovative research on practices of prayer and to foster the development of an interdisciplinary network of scholars engaged in the study of prayer. Further information about the project and grants program is available on the SSRC’s website.

The initiative will be led by a multi-disciplinary advisory committee, including Columbia Univesity’s Courtney Bender (chair), Paul Bloom (Yale University), Anna Gade (UW-Madison), Charles Hirschkind (UC-Berkeley), Kevin Ladd (Indiana University South Bend), Hazel Markus (Stanford University), Birgit Meyer (Universiteit Utrecht), Peter van der Veer (Max Planck Institute), and Diane Winston (USC).
