Martin Riesebrodt
Martin Riesebrodt is a professor emeritus of sociology at the University of Chicago. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Heidelberg, and his Ph.D. Habilitation at the University of Munich. Among his publications are Pious Passion: The Emergence of Modern Fundamentalism in the United States and Iran (1993) and The Promise of Salvation: A Theory of Religion (2010).
