Pinky Hota

Pinky Hota is an assistant professor of anthropology at Smith College with interests in the postcolonial state and law, minority recognition and citizenship, and ethnonationalist and populist politics. Her book manuscript examines ethnoreligious violence between two minority communities to demonstrate how indigeneity as a secular liberal minority formation links legal recognition and ethnonationalist politics in ways that undermine other minority claims within the Indian nation state.
