Jessica Marglin

Jessica Marglin is assistant professor of religion and the Ruth Ziegler Early Career Chair in Jewish Studies at the University of Southern California. Her research focuses on the legal history of Jews and Muslims in North Africa and the Mediterranean. Her book, Across Legal Lines: Jews and Muslims in Modern Morocco, was published by Yale University Press in 2016; it won multiple awards, including the National Jewish Book Award in Sephardic Studies. She is currently working on a microhistory of the legal disputes surrounding the estate of a Tunisian Jew who died in Italy.
