At The Seeker, Manya Brachear asks, “If the American government can dole out billions to bail out investment banks, why can’t it bail out food banks too?”

More than 3,000 people of faith have signed the petition sponsored by Faithful America, an online community of more than 80,000 people across diverse religious traditions, united by a conviction to make moral issues a priority in the public square.

The group defines moral issues as ending poverty, promoting economic security, fostering peace, promoting human rights and diplomacy, preventing the effects of climate change, countering hate speech and misinformation in the media and building inclusive communities for immigrants and people of all faiths.
