Last month the John Templeton Foundation convened Arnold Eisen, Chancellor of the Jewish Theological Seminary, and Terry Eagleton, author of Reason, Faith, and Revolution: Reflections on the God Debate, to discuss the rise of the “new atheism,” the persistence of religious belief in the wake of modernity, and the possibility of a radical politics rooted in Christian faith.
