Shahzad Bashir is Dean, Institute for the Study of Muslim Civilisations, Aga Khan University, London. He has worked on topics across the fields of religion, history, and literature. His most recent books are The Market in Poetry in the Persian World (Cambridge University Press, 2021) and the digital book A New Vision for Islamic Pasts and Futures (MIT Press, 2022). He is an associate editor of the journal History and Theory and edits the book series Islamic Humanities (University of California Press).
