Kari Telle is a social anthropologist and Senior Researcher at the Chr. Michelsen Institute (CMI) in Norway, whose research centers on the anthropology of religion, secularism and religious pluralism, Hindu-Muslim relations, militias, security and policing in Indonesia. She coedited Contemporary Religiosities: Emergent Socialities and the Post-Nation-State (2010) and has recently published in Ethnos, The Asia Pacific Journal of Anthropology, Bijdragen-tot de Taal-, and Land-en Volkenkunde.
