David Johnston
David Johnston is Professor of Political Science and Director of the Society of Fellows in the Humanities at Columbia University in the City of New York. He is author of The Rhetoric of Leviathan: Thomas Hobbes and the Politics of Cultural Transformation (Princeton) and The Idea of a Liberal Theory (Princeton); co-editor, with Richard Flathman, of Hobbes’s Leviathan: A Norton Critical Edition; and editor of Equality (Hackett). He served as Chair of the International Conference for the Study of Political Thought from 2001-2007.
