Helge Årsheim is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Oslo. Årsheim's work is primarily dedicated to the examination of interconnections between law and religion, combining theoretical, historical and empirical approaches to this topic. He defended his PhD dissertation on the concept of religion at four UN human rights committees in 2015. Årsheim is currently involved in several research projects on law and religion, and is also part of the Oslo Coalition on Freedom of Religion or Belief, where he has worked in particular with the politicization of the freedom of religion or belief.
