Anna Bonnell Freidin is an assistant professor of history at the University of Michigan. Her research and teaching focus on Roman culture from the first century BCE through the third century CE. She is currently working on a book manuscript that explores how Romans constructed, understood, and mitigated the risks of childbirth. She received her PhD from Princeton in 2018.
