Alexander Englert

Alexander T. Englert is a Research Associate at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. After earning his Ph.D. in philosophy from Johns Hopkins University, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Princeton University's Center for Human Values, where he worked in the Princeton Project in Philosophy and Religion. He researches Immanuel Kant and the German Idealist tradition, as well as consciousness and philosophy of religion broadly construed. His work has appeared in many peer-reviewed journals, such as British Journal for the History of Philosophy, Inquiry, and Res Philosophica, as well as Aeon magazine.
