The Ford Foundation seeks a Program Officer for its work on religion in the public sphere:
The Religion Program Officer will be responsible for designing and administering a portfolio of grants that support efforts by faith leaders to frame, address, and engage with issues of social justice. Using a range of approaches, the Program Officer will explore and support the diverse ways in which faith-based voices can shape public discourse and drive positive social change on subjects including economic fairness, criminal justice, immigration rights, and other important issues.
The Program Officer will maintain close working relationships with existing and potential grantees; review and respond to proposals; identify new grantees; recommend and monitor grants; and analyze results. He or she will evaluate proposals with a balanced touch, paying close attention to new developments and technologies, making strategic judgments that craft an effective portfolio. The Program Officer will work with grantees to ensure that the impact of their work is accurately monitored and understood so that the Foundation and its grantees can maximize learning.
