William J. Long
William J. Long is a professor of political science at Georgia State University. Formerly, he served as dean of the Georgia State’s College of Arts and Sciences and professor and director of the School of International Affairs at Georgia Institute of Technology.
Long is the author of seven books, including the forthcoming work, Buddhism and Deliberative Democracy, published by Palgrave Macmillan and has received research and teaching awards from the United States Institute of Peace; the Council on Foreign Relations; the Hewlett, Pew, Sloan and MacArthur Foundations; the Fulbright Commission; the US Department of Education; and the Commission of the European Union.
His other publications in the area of comparative political theory include Tantric State: A Buddhist Approach to Democracy and Development in Bhutan and Radical Interdependence: A Buddhist Approach to International Relations.
