Mei Zhan is associate professor of anthropology at the University of California, Irvine. She is the author of Other-Worldly: Making Chinese Medicine Through Transnational Frames (Duke University Press, 2009). She is currently writing an ethnography on the emergence of a new kind of classical medicine to "bring medicine back to life" in entrepreneurial China.
