M. Madhava Prasad is professor of cultural studies at the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad, India. He is the author of Ideology of the Hindi Film (Oxford University Press, 1998), Cine-politics: Film Stars and Politics in South India (Orient Blackswan, 2014) and essays on caste, democracy, language, and other issues of contemporary India.
