Douglas Duckworth
Douglas Duckworth is a professor of religion and the director of graduate studies in the Religion Department at Temple University. His research engages the nature of Buddhist philosophy and practice, and their relation. Duckworth is the author of Mipam on Buddha-Nature: The Ground of the Nyingma Tradition (SUNY Press, 2008), Jamgön Mipam: His Life and Teachings (Shambhala Publications, 2011), and Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy of Mind and Nature (Oxford University Press, 2019). Most recently, Duckworth translated Minyak Kunzang Sönam’s extensive commentary on Śāntideva’s Bodhicaryāvatāra, in The Great Hūṃ: A Commentary on the Way of the Bodhisattva (Wisdom, 2025).
