Christine Helmer (PhD Yale) is professor of German and religious studies at Northwestern University. Her area of research and teaching specialization is academic theology, with a particular interest in German intellectual history and culture; the relation between theology, knowledge, and higher education; and theology and embodiment, specifically in sports as political resistance.
