Samuel L. Perry is an assistant professor of sociology and religious studies at the University of Oklahoma. His work documents religion's relationship to cultural power in a variety of social contexts such as the family, sex, and politics. His third and most recent book (with Andrew L. Whitehead) is Taking America Back for God: Christian Nationalism in the United States (Oxford University Press, 2019).
