Illinois State University Philosophy and Religious Studies Department has announced a call for papers for the upcoming conference on religion in higher education, Why Study Religion?, which will be held October 25-26, 2013. The conference will address the following questions:
Why is it important to know about and study religion?
Who should study religion?
How should we study religion?
How should we teach religion?
Who should teach religion?
Faculty members and graduate students are invited to submit papers for presentation at the conference. Paper submissions should clearly address at least one of the five questions listed above. Papers should be no more than 4,000 words and be appropriate for a 30-40 minute reading time. Papers should be submitted electronically as Microsoft Word documents to Daniel Breyer at dbreyer@ilstu.edu with the subject heading “Conference Paper Submission.” Submissions must be received by September 15th, 2013.
