The Lake Institute on Faith and Giving at the Center on Philanthropy, Indiana University, is currently fielding applications for the 2012 Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship:

The Lake Institute on Faith and Giving is accepting applications for the 2012 Lake Doctoral Dissertation Fellowship, a $22,000 award for a Ph.D. candidate working in the fields of faith and giving or religion and philanthropy. The fellowship is intended to support the final year of research and dissertation writing.

Past fellowship recipients have come from a variety of academic disciplines and studied diverse topics. The 2011 fellow, David King, a student of religion at Emory University, is completing his research on the evolution of World Vision’s religious identity and the face of religion in philanthropic organizations. Previous fellowship winners have focused on issues such as practices of religious-based mutual funds, the historical importance of Evangelical businessmen during the Depression and World War II years, and the real-world implications of adherence to The Prosperity Gospel, a theology that holds that wealth is a sign of favor from God.

All applications and supporting documents must be received by January 31, 2012. Read more here.
