Robert Samet
Robert Samet is assistant professor of anthropology and contributing faculty in Latin American and Caribbean studies at Union College. His research on populism, the press, and the politics of security in Venezuela was made possible thanks to funding from the National Science Foundation, the Social Science Research Council, and the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research. The results of this research has featured in American Ethnologist, Cultural Anthropology, and the Journal of Latin American Studies. His book—Deadline: Populism and the Press in Venezuela (University of Chicago Press)—was published in July 2019.
