Justin Jones is Associate Professor in the Study of Religion in the Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford. He is a specialist in Islam in modern South Asia; his publications include Shi'a Islam in Colonial India: Religion, Community and Sectarianism (Cambridge University Press, 2012), as well as numerous journal articles, chapters, and edited volumes on subjects including Islamic sectarian conflict, Muslim urban histories, and Muslim family law.
