Mayanthi L. Fernando

Mayanthi L. Fernando is a professor of anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. She works on secularity, religion, bodies, senses, and more-than-multispecies worlds. She is the author of The Republic Unsettled: Muslim French and the Contradictions of Secularism (Duke University Press, 2014) and coeditor of Trouillot Remixed: The Michel-Rolph Trouillot Reader (Duke University Press, 2021). She is currently writing a book on secularity and the Anthropocene.
